Mariko Aikawa took up botanical painting in 2004, following a career as a translator / interpreter at an Embassy in Tokyo. She became a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA), UK in 2009 and exhibited with them on numerous occasions.

Capsules 蒴果
Pine cones and any other capsules are all so charming. They are small, round, and as if rolling away if pushed with a finger. I like them in graphite.
