About Tillandsia
Welcome to Botanical Art Collection ’Tillandsia’.
Tillandsia is a powerful and charming species, yet not known widely. I have been fascinated by this species and vigorously drawn them for the past decade. You will be surprised by the variety of Tillandsia in shapes, sizes and colours. Some are 2-3cm across, while others 150cm or more. They are epiphytes(air plants) and do not need soil. They cling to other plants, rocks and whatsoever, yet they are not parasites.
They depend on rain for moisture and take it in by the leaves. Many look silvery covered with grayish scales. They are from dry areas in Tropical America. Some have soft greenish foliage. They are mainly from tropical rainforests.
They become spectacular when in bloom and blooming is once in their life time. I have been tried to capture the glorious moment and draw the timing.
Please enjoy the beautiful world of flowering Tillandsia.
